We’re oddly close (more than we were)

(Make fun of my words, laugh at stupid stuff)

I am tired (I want to go to sleep)

But with you feeling so near it’s impossible

If it’s serious enough (which it usually is)

When you wake up (I’ll get a text saying hello)

As if to erase the blunt honestly the night before

I am your pillow

(Always where you rest and spill your secrets)

And that’s where I’m stuck (Unable to sleep until I know you are)

You’ll find a new one

And when you’re ready (I will leave)

Go back to the bed that’s my own

You’re waiting for me (before wrapping me in blankets)

Neatly tucked under your chin

You are my pillow.
